The AEN -
The Asian Express Newspaper
is needed always as
a strong platform
to serve humanity globally
The AEN-The Asian Express Newspaper is needed always globally as it is serving the humanity by raising a voice strongly as well as promoting harmony and better understanding among peoples since 1973 in this complex world.
The AEN was primarily founded by Mr.Vallabh Kaviraj in London 1973, aiming to serve Indian Asian community in providing newsviews in English within Asian community at large as well as to bridge a communication gap between all Asians and the host community in the UK. It had covered many issues concerning the Indian Asians who needed a platform to raise a voice as well as to promote better understanding among themselves as well as to bridge the communication gap to promote harmony within the British socity. The AEN then became a communivative news vehicle always.
Today, many readers nationally and internationally who know The AEN-The Asian Express Newspaper well recall that The AEN pioneered an Asian English ethnic press and has served the multi racial society greatly for many years, creating a strong platform to raise a voice, promoting harmony and better understanding among all Asians, ethnic minorities and the host community in the UK.
Since it was founded and edited continously by Mr.Vallabh Kaviraj himself by doing hard work for years to build up the newspaper, its print version format had improved from tabloid newspaper size to quality braodsheet newspaper format size, and gained a strong ground in the press-media world as one of the quality national English newspapers and given a considerable coverage on humanity concern serious issues, making strong points loud and clear and those points were greatly heard by authorities nationally and internationally and considered points to resolve the issues seriously.
It needs to be said that The AEN had highlighted a number of international humanity concern issues, one of those issues was concerning India-Pakistan seazone area conflict issue during the President Zia government of Pakistan when a number of Indian cargo vessels and crews were picked up by the Pakistani navy from the Indian seazone side and jailed 200 Indian victims who had suffered severely in the Pakistan's Karachi jail and two died there. Indian people in India had then compaigned hard to get those Indian victims get released from Pakistani jail but they failed because the tension was high between two governments then. Some of the community organisations in India had tried hard to find ways to get released their people who had been wrongly detained in Pakistani jail and had tried through Rajive Gandhi Government but could not find ways.
At last some of those community organisations in India had learnt that The AEN would help in raising a voice of people by highlighting the serious issue on international level and after the Indian community approached to The AEN, it had highlighted the issue raising a strong voice of people and eventually President Zia and his government had heard The AEN's strong voice on humanity basis to get released those Indian victims and at last they had been released by the President Zia government but those viciims could not bring their vessels back to India, which were providing their livelihood in India. However, at last, The AEN had written to the Solanki Gujarat state government then, concerning the issue of victims and eventully all victims were offered some help in India and The AEN was praised for its good work for the humanity.
In Britain, the racism issue had caused for concern for many years and The AEN had often highlighted concerning the issue. India's late Prime Ministers: Mr. Morarji Desai, Mrs Indira Gandhi and Rajive Gandhi had heard the strong voice of The AEN and they had spoken to former British Prime Minister, Mrs Margaret Thatcher on the issue and then the situation had slightly improved.
Also, the equal opportunities issue had caused for concern in this country, especially in the field of media and the government departments. The AEN highlighted the issue often. At last the situation seems slightly improved.
In early 1990's, overseas Indians raised their dual nationality and citizenship issue to the Indian government and The AEN highlighted about the issue for a number of years and raised some constructive points to resolve the issue. At last, the Indian government had heard the voice of The AEN and the issue was debated in the Indian parliament and now the Indian dual citizenship issue seems to be partly resolved.
The AEN has helped the Indian Asian society at large, promoting harmony and better understanding for years and doing so always but the world has changed considerably and coming closer day by day as the high technology connecting the world at large quicker than ever before and further the globalisation has made the world as one family. Therefore The AEN is now serving the humanity globally better than ever before by reaching out readers worldwide.
