US aprroves India nuclear deal, but India prefers
to wait until final conclusion of US process
US House of Representatives reportedly approved Last year's Indo-US
nuclear deal, but India's Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today
made it clear that if the end product of the American legislation
on the deal was not consistent with last year's agreement, then
that would be the determining factor on what India will do, news
reports said.
Reportedly speaking in Rajya Sabha, Dr. Singh also said let it
legislative process be completed , we will then determine whether
there are elements which go beyond what we have committed in July
(agreement) last year.
The US legislative process still on and I cannot say that I can
predict what the US legislative process be, Dr. Singh reportedly
replying to the supplementaries to a question on the deal in the
House, media reports said.

EU and China textile trade talks end
Eurpoean Union and China textile trade talks between- reportedly
have ended with an agreement, which could settle the ongoing strife
over textile deal.
Reportedly talks came ahead of a summit which began with UK Prime
Minister Tony Blair and Chinese President Hu Jintao.
Mr.Blair reportedly said the strategic partnership between two
was vital.
However, reportedly the deal still has to be agreed by 25 member
states, which are split over effects of the quotas.
Mr.Blair reportedly told media that he thought he was reasonably
optimistic about finding a solution to the textile problems, widely
dubbed bra wars after one of the blocked categories of clothing,
media reports said.
Reportedly talks are aimed at easing a backlog of millions of
Chinese-made sweaters, trousers, bras and other garments.
The two sides opened talks after EU halted imports of Cinese texttiles
goods which had breached strict quota limits agreed earlier in
the year.
Reportedly the limits were designed to protect Europe from a flood
of Chinese imports.
In mean time, the EU quotas are beginning to hurt China's clothing
manufacturers.
China is selling more clothing to Europe than ever before-abot
£4.5bn (6.5bn euros) in the first half of this year alone, almost
same amount as in all of 2004, media reports said.
