In EU, mobile phone charges reduced
In EU, reportedly moble phone charges have become cheaper under
new limits set by European Commission, news reports said.
Reportedly operators can charge a maximum of around 34 pence a
minute for making calls, and 17 pence to receive a call.
The new rules reportedly do not apply to text messages nor internet
access on a mobile phone.
The Commission will reportedly continue to monitor prices in particular
for SMS and data roaming, news reports said.

In Britain, Apple's much-hyped iPhone will be sold from 9 November,
this year.
The iPhone will be sold in 02, Carphone Warehouse and Apple store
from 9 November, this year in this country, costing £269 including
VAT.
Users will get free use of 7500 wi-fi-hotspots giving faster internet
access. Apple's Chief Executive Steve Jobs has announced at a
press conference in London on Tuesday 18, September, saying that
02 has won the contract.
The iPhone was launched in the US on 29 June,this year.

TV on mobile phone becoming more popular
in Britain
A mobile TV service is becoming more popular in Britain, according
to mobile operators who conducted a trial, finding that people
prefer to use the service greatly at home.
02 and BT trials reportedly used different technologies but drew
similar conclusions about the appeal of mobile TV to consumers.
Reportedly results showed that 76% would take up services within
the next 12 months, with 83% satisfied with the service they received.
According to the results, people were viewing an average of three
hours of TV per week, with demand peaking in the morning and evening
commuters to and from work, news reports said.

Wireless net service gaining ground globally
People using wireless net hotspots will soon be able to make free
phone calls as well as surf the net, media reports said.
Reportedly wireless provider Broadreach and net telephony firm
Skype are rolling out a service at 350 hotspots around the UK
this week.
Reportedly users will need a Skype account-downloadable for free-and
they will then be able to make net calls via wi-fi without paying
for net access, news reported.
The system is reportedly gaining in popularity and now has 28
million users arounf the world, news reports said.

Wrist watch computers possible
-says India's chemistry prof.
India's Nobel Laureate in chemistry (2000), Professor Hideki Shirakawa
reportedly said that development of conductive polymers and its
applications might pave way for wrist watch computers and soft
robots.
Talking to reporters in Hydrabad after visiting the Indian Institute
of Chemical Technology, Hydrabad,Prof. Shirakawa, acclaimed for
his Discovery and Development of Conductive Polymers, saying developments
of conductive polymers would lead to reducing the size of electronic
circuts in the coming years.
One of the crucial features of polymers was that they were flexible,
news reported.
